Genres: Abstract Hip Hop, East Coast Hip Hop, Experimental Hip HopI hope my long-winded examination of this album provides some insight into why it ranks among my favorites.Indeed, Aes's defiance fantasy denies the horror of care homes, monuments to capitalist logic in which the economically unproductive, being a useless burden, have their remaining value -- their savings or the market value of their recently sold homes -- sucked dry by service industry entrepreneurs.Artists whose best albums lie on opposite ends of their career(s) What are your favorite albums of all time.As a child, she chalks her neighbourhood and its characters onto the sidewalk round her block. How does Lucy support her quiet rebellion.Known for his phenomenal vocabulary and eclectic sense of storytelling, he got his start with university friend and producer in his own right Blockhead, and in the late 90s he self-financed a limited project Music For Earthworms, primarily promoted online through his own website and MP3.At their best, Blockhead's squalid Gotham soundscape recombines impressions in Aes's fleet-footed flow, as in the phenomenal 'Daylight', whittling the stylisation all but away.Genres: Abstract Hip Hop, East Coast Hip Hop, Conscious Hip Hop.aka_text), Cryptic One (aka_text mixing role_id 1327. It's hard man! He isn't exactly doing stream of conscious like a certain swordsman later on the list, there's something being said most of the time, just in a really really convoluted way (his voice is also a little garbled). They mostly resemble a more down tempo Stoup set, they're all done by Aesop's close man in arms Blockhead and are a major step up from the ones on Earthworms.Dense fucking lyrics. Published. So with my initial reaction to Float being an unfavorable one I pretty much shelved this album and just forgot about it.how much can he have cared about these words, really. This is probably the most complex and dense thing Aes has ever released. It seemed really disjointed and the songs were way more abstract than I was used to, even for Aes. or an Eyedea or a Prolyphic - would have turned this album into something great. L is probably best known for his later work alongside DJ JS-1, but it was on Music For Earthworms that he would make his debut to the world, producing every track here (excluding the radio freestyles). His enthusiasm is unmistakable, though (even if he opens with a track called ?Abandon All Hope?), and feels almost funny because it?s so unfamiliar now; it?s the rare moment on an Aesop Rock album that causes you to chuckle, and it's something to cherish, too.But beating underneath that is the troubled, embryonic heart of a truly unique MC.The beats are dark and creepy; sounding almost like the soundtrack to the worst nightmare you've had. It?s not that the darker side of Ace isn?t visible alongside all this energy; next to most 21-year-olds this guy would definitely sound morose. And Shere Kahn may be one of the greatest songs ever produced, even if the lyrics aren't 100% Aesop's best, it's at least 90%. Top 30 Aesop Rock Songs.
There?s some imagery of a fantasy underworld in there, which probably make it the best fit for the Bosch painting (see above).Maybe it's a side effect of making his own beats and being able to tailor everything to himself better, but he's constantly meshing his vocal rhythms with the beats which makes everything feel more unified. So Skelethon is Aesop Rock unhindered, allowed to go full pelt - and he responds to that with an album that, by his standards, is impressively and noticably personal. You need to pay attention though, to attempt to solve Aesop?s lyrical Rubix cube on this album. These beats feel dangerous and hard hitting.5) ? seems to be about motorbikes. After two disheartening releases, I really thought Aesop Rock had burnt out.Aesop Rock returns in full glory on this album. In 2007, after the release of None Shall Pass, he withdrew from the spotlight. Many fans now have a hard time picking whether Skelethon or Labor Days is AR?s masterpiece.Lyrically, AR is right back up to his stratospheric peak.
